The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) is a semi-autonomous statutory body under the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. TCU is mandated to recognize, approve, register and accredit universities operating in Tanzania and local or foreign University level programmes. TCU also coordinates the
proper functioning of all university institutions in Tanzania so as to foster harmonized highereducationinthecountry.


The Commission offices are currently located at Garden Road (Near TPDC Estate), Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam. Tanzania Commission for Universities now invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions:

c)Tocollectandcompiledatafromhighereducationinstitutionsfor preparationoftheadmissionguidebook;

d)Tocarryoutadmissionauditsfromtimetotime;

e)ToassistinorganizingmeetingsanddocumentationfortheAdmission meetings;

f)Tohelpandguidesuccessfulapplicantswithformalitiesrelatedto admissionintolocalandforeignhighereducationinstitutions;

g)Toperformanyotherdutiesaswillbeassignedbythesupervisor.


Academic Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and experience:
Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Education or Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, ICT or equivalent qualification from any recognized institutions with minimum experience of three years in the field of specialization. ICT skills in computer applications are mandatory.
Personal Attributes
In addition to the above skills and qualifications applicants for the above position are required to have the following attributes:

a)A very high level of integrity, honesty and sense of responsibility;
b)Ability to work in a dynamic team;
c)Ability to produce expected results;
d)Ability to self manage and meet deadlines;
e)Willingness to work beyond the call of duty;
f)Computer literacy;
g)Must not be above 35 years of age.
Remuneration
Successful candidate will be paid according to Tanzania Commission for Universities salary scale.

Accreditation Officer II (3 Posts)

Duty Station:

Report to:
Director of Accreditation and Quality Assurance
Main duties and responsibilities
a)To perform tasks related to accreditation and registration of both public and private university institutions;
b)To check and verify the genuineness of documents and other facts and information supplied by applicants of accreditation and/or registration;
c)To participate in the inspection and technical evaluation of the institutions and make appropriate recommendations;
d)To monitor and report on progress and performance of university institutions and make appropriate recommendations;
e)To monitor and report on progress made by university institutions in implementing Commission’s guidelines and directives;
f)To develop and update the standard criteria and procedures for

accrediting programmes and courses of university institutions;
g)To monitor, collect detailed data and report on the diversity, quality relevance and logistics of programmes and courses offered by higher education institutions;
h)To assist in the evaluation and equation of academic and professional awards;
i)To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Report to:
Human Resource Officer
Main Duties and Responsibilities
a)Receives all incoming mails and enters them in the relevant registers;
b)Files correspondence in appropriate files and cross referencing;
c)Receives and distributes official publications according to standing instructions;

d)Opens registered letters;
e)Distributes subject files and flimsy to scheduled officers;
f)Dispatches mails for review;
g)Maintain postage stamp register;
h)Performs any other duties assigned by Senior Staff.

Academic Qualifications
Holders of Certificate of Secondary School Education or Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education who have passed the Diploma in Records Management from any recognized Institution, with not less than three years experience in areas of Records Management. Computer skills are essential.

In addition to the above skills and qualifications applicants for the above position are required to have the following attributes:
