Bukoba based referee Jonisia Rukyaa has been entrusted to officiate the Simba-Mtibwa encounter whose result is likely to affect third placed Mbeya City on the premiership standings table.

Simba who have 30 points ahead of today’s clash might leapfrog to the third place of the league table should they post vic tory over their hosts. The Dar es Salaam giants can not move above third place on the tale as two other top-placed teams have already secured unassailable points. Samba had won their first leg match over Mtibwa Sugar by 2-0 goals at the National Stadium during the first half of the season.

Azam FC are at the summit f the table wnjoying a single-point cushion over holders Young Africans who shattered Mbeya City’s 15-match unbeaten run over the weekend in Dar es salaam.

Elsewhere, Tanzania Prisons who are floating on the relegation pool with paltry nine points will be at home to Coastal Union at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.

Prisons will be making their first appearance since the second half of the season kicked off last month as their home venue was still not suitable to host premiership games.
This will be Prisons’ 14th round match while their visitors are closing on the 16th round. Middle-table positioned Coastal Union with 18 points to their collection have never posted victory in their previous two matches played so far.

Five of the relegation-haunted teams namely Mgambo JKT, Rhino Rangers, JKT Mgambo, Ashanti United and JKT Oljoro will be seeking to earn points to survival bid. The teams are separated by slim cushions of not more than two points with nine-point Mgambo JKT at the base of the premiership standings.

The outcome of their matches will most likely to tilt the relegation candidacy outlook.
