The former Netherlands international believes
that the Brazil captain now just needs to match the consistency of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo
Clarence Seedorf says that Neymar is doing a "great job" for Barcelonaand believes that the forward will become an even better player as he develops physically.

The striker was made Brazil captain by coach Dunga following the World Cup and has hit eight goals in eight matches for the Selecao since inheriting the armband from Thiago Silva.

Neymar has already doubled last season’s Liga tally of nine goals for his club and Seedorf, who spent two seasons in Brazil with Botafogo, believes that the 23-year-old former Santos starlet is only going to improve.

"He is still young but he is doing really well,” the Dutchman told a sponsored event in Rio.

“He has gone to a big club and is doing a great job there. He is going to continue to grow and mature.

"He has improved and it's only a matter of time before he is even stronger.”

Seedorf also believes that Neymar only needs to maintain his current level of performance in order to be one day spoke of in the same breath as Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Right now Messi and Ronaldo are the most respected players in the world because they have been doing what they are doing for a long time,” he said.

“But, in my opinion, Neymar is doing a great job."

Neymar, who is now fifth in the list of Brazil’s all-time goalscorers with 43 goals in 62 matchesy, will return to the international arena in June when the Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour resumes with Copa America warm-up friendlies against Mexico and Honduras.
