Renowned Arusha businessman Obed Masawe, (50) was
found dead at a popular cub in the city and police believe he died of
natural causes.
Arusha Regional Police Commander, Liberatus Sabas said the
businessman, a resident of the bustling Njiro suburb in Arusha city was
found dead in popular club on Tuesday (March 23) this week.
“Our investigations indicate that the deceased had high blood pressure complications,” the RPC explained.
“Eye witnesses say he started feeling unwell around 7:30pm that evening and he passed away soon thereafter,” RPC Sabas reported.
The entrepreneur was the owner of a popular hard liquor store known as Masobe Traders housed in the CCM regional building.
Incidentally, the second fatality occurred in the vicinity of that
building, however police have not indicated any links between the two
deaths.
In the second fatal incident, the RPC said the body of a woman aged
between 18 and 25 was recovered on the same day from a drainage culvert
near the CCM building, where the offices of the deceased businessman
were.
“He said the body is preserved at Mount Meru Regional Hospital
waiting for identification,” he said and noted that investigations into
the two incidents are ongoing and invited the public to come forward
with any related information.
