According to Arora, the hospital will provide modern medical equipment such as CT scan, MRI, dialysis and house a diabetic clinic.

“We will bring our doctors who will   work together with local doctors to ensure that Tanzanians minimize the cost of travelling to India,” he added.

“These are few engagements but we plan to introduce many more, so in a few years to come, the country will have sustainable health care ,” he said.

NSSF Chief, Public Relations and Customer Service Eunice Chiume confirmed the agreement between the two sides, “it’s another opportunity for Tanzanians to reduce the burden of sending patients to India for treatment,” she said.

She explained that the centre will  be located at the former NSSF headquarters along Bibi Titi road in Dar es Salaam.

“It will  be a super clinic where patients will get diagnostic results, the government will also reduce the cost of sending patients abroad,” she said.
She also pointed out that after opening of the Diagnostic Centre, the Apollo Hospitals Group in collaboration with NSSF will lay a foundation stone for construction of new super specialist hospital at Kigamboni, in Temeke District.
