| Selection of applicants to be sponsored by AMREF which involves applicants residing in SIMIYU, SHINYANGA and the district of KILWA-LINDI has been conducted. A total of 297 applicants were considered for this sponsorship based on their locality. Their locality was extracted from a list of 292 secondary schools which are listed here under. These schools are in the districts specified by AMREF as potential locations. It was assumed that an applicant resided in the same district wher e he/she studied because this was the best way to ensure that the applicant resided in a given location. The geographical location was the first selection criteria. The second criterion was Performance. Performance was considered in order of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English and lastly Mathematics. The third criterion was Olevel division points and finally the fourth was Olevel Graduation year. The list of selected applicants for sponsorship has been submitted to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and they will be made public after approval. If an applicant did not study in any of the secondary schools listed below, they are automatically disqualified from the sponsorship as this sponsorship requires only specific geographical areas. A total of 67 applicants were selected for sponsorship. Two (2) applicants were missing from Kilwa and one (1) from Ushetu.
