Daktari Bingwa wa Magonjwa ya Macho kutoka Hospitali ya Rufaa Dodoma, Dk. Msigaro Erasto,akieleza hali ya magonjwa mbalimbali ya macho katika maadhimisho ya wiki ya afya ya macho Duniani jijini Dodoma.

Baadhi ya wataalamu wa Afya ya Macho wakiwafanyia uchunguzi wa macho wananchi mbalimbali waliofika kupata huduma hiyo bure bila gharama yoyote.

IMEELEZWA kuwa kati ya Asilimia 78 hadi 80 ya wakazi wa Dodoma wanakabiliwa na matatizo mbalimbali ya macho ikiwamo uoni hafifu.

Hayo yameelezwa na Daktari Bingwa wa Magonjwa ya Macho kutoka Hospitali ya Rufaa Dodoma, Dk. Msigaro Erasto wakati akielezea hali ya magonjwa mbalimbali ya macho katika maadhimisho ya wiki ya afya ya macho Duniani.

Dk. Erasto amesema kuwa changamoto zipo nyingi katika Jamii na kwamba wengi bado hawana uelewa kuhusu afya ya mcaho pamoja na jinsi ya kuyalinda.

''Tumegundua kuwa katika Mkoa wa Dodoma kuna changamoto za macho ni nyingi na watu bado hawana uelewa au elimu haijawafikia juu ya umuhimu wa kufanya uchunguzi wa afya ya Macho"amesema Dk.Erasto

Aidha ameeleza kuwa wapo ambao hawaoni mbali,hawaoni karibu,wapo wenye presha ya macho ,kisukari ,presha ya kawaida (hypertensioni) ambayo pia ni hatari kwa afya ya macho.

''Sisi kama wataalamu wa macho siku zote tumeendelea kuhimiza na kutoa elimu juu ya umuhimu ya wananchi kwenda kupima kutokana na kampeni yetu ya mwaka huu ililenga kuzuia Magonjwa ya macho kwa kuelimisha Jamii kutunza macho. ''ameeleza

Hata hivyo ametoa wito kwa Wananchi kufanya uchunguzi wa macho haijalishi una matatizo au hauna anatakiwa kufanya uchunguzi kuanzia miezi sita hadi Mwaka kwa sababu matatizo mengi yanakuja kutokana na mfumo wa maisha unavyobadilika.

Katika hatua nyingine wataalam hao wa macho wametembelea kituo cha mabasi NaneNane kwa kutoa elimu kwa madereva juu ya umuhimu wa kufanya uchunguzi wa afya ya macho.

''Tumetembelea kituo hiki na kutoa elimu tumebaini kuwa kuna baadhi ya madereva wanakaribiwa na matatizo ya macho na hawajijui hali zao,wengi hupata ajali za barabarani wakati wa usiku''amesema

Kwa upande wao baadhi ya wafanyabiashara wa Stendi hiyo wametoa shukrani kwa wataalam wa Afya ya macho kwa kuwatembelea na kuwapa huduma hiyo katika eneo la stendi.

''Huduma ni nzuri,tumefurahi kitendo cha kututembelea kwa sababu tumekuwa tupo bize hivyo kukosa muda wa kwenda kufanya uchunguzi wa macho au kufika katika kituo cha afya kutokana na shughuli zetu''wamesema

Wamesema kuwa wamefanyiwa uchunguzi wa macho bure kabisa hakuna gharama yoyote waliotozwa wamepewa huduma bure.
