The President is on a four-day official visit at the invitation of India’s President Pranad Mukherjee.
Located at Greater Noida area in the outskirts of New Delhi,
India’s capital, New Holland Agriculture Company manufactures 58,000
modern tractors per annum.
A statement from the State House Directorate of Communication said
the company has been doing business with Tanzania since 2011 when it
sold 700 tractors to the National Service’s SUMA JKT Company. According
to the statement, SUMA JKT plans to purchase 300 tractors to improve and
revolutionise the agriculture sector.
It said apart from selling tractors , New Holland Agriculture whose
large markets are Europe and the United States, has also trained 26
plumbers from Tanzanian National service and five trainers of trainers
since last year.
The statement said New Holland Agriculture is among the leading
companies in manufacturing agricultural equipment and especially
tractors and harvesters.
Meanwhile, top Indian companies executives and businessmen have
applauded Tanzania government for her good policies that target
developing its industries and attracting investment.
The statement said the executives in India have been attracted by
the good investment environment that Tanzania has, including peace,
harmony and rule of law.
The executives and business community aired their comments when they met for talks with President Kikwete on Thursday.
A Representative of airtel company Shirshirv Priyadarsh told
President Kikwete that his company airtel has been in Tanzania for many
years.
“We believe that in matters of business and investments, your
government Mr President is working transparently, much more so, than any
country in the African continent,” said Priyadarsh.
